The service is not available to those under 14.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
4. Acceptable use
It is prohibited to use CartIrya to:
Send illegal, defamatory, offensive content, or content that violates third-party rights.
Spam, phishing, or any form of unsolicited mass communication.
Circumvent the technical limitations of the service (e.g. altering the letter quota via scripts).
Collect other users' data without authorization.
Any activity that harms, overloads, or compromises the stability of the service.
Entering third parties' personal data (e.g. names of recipients or event guests) without being entitled to: by entering it, you warrant that you may disclose it to CartIrya for the purpose of delivering the letter.
5. Moderation and content reporting
CartIrya is a hosting platform for private communications between users: we do not actively monitor the content of letters. Responsibility for the content sent lies with the sender.
How to report unlawful content: anyone who receives a CartIrya letter with content they believe to be illegal (e.g. threats, child sexual abuse material, hate speech, copyright infringement, fraud, doxxing) can report it to [email protected] indicating: letter link, type of violation, reason.
Review procedure:
Triage within 48 hours of the report (business days).
For clearly unlawful content (e.g. CSAM, death threats, active fraud), immediate removal and reporting to the competent authorities where required by law (e.g. NCMEC for child abuse material).
For questionable content (alleged defamation, copyright), verification and discussion with the sender: the letter may be temporarily made inaccessible during the analysis.
Outcome communicated to the reporter (and to the sender, if the letter is removed) within 7 business days of the decision.
Right of reply: the sender may contest the removal by replying to [email protected] within 14 days. The final decision is made by the data controller.
CartIrya keeps an internal log of reports and moderation actions for compliance and auditing purposes.
6. Plans and payments
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC, United States), acting as Merchant of Record. This means that, for tax purposes, it is Lemon Squeezy that sells the digital products to the end user: it collects the payment, applies local taxes (EU VAT, US sales tax, etc.), issues the tax receipt, and pays CartIrya what is due net of its own fees. Therefore, the invoice/receipt for your purchase is issued by Lemon Squeezy and not by CartIrya. You can read Lemon Squeezy's terms here.
Free plan: includes a limited number of letters per month (within the quota shown in-app). No credit card required.
Letter credits: one-time purchases valid indefinitely. They do not expire.
Subscriptions: renew automatically at the stated cadence (monthly or annual). You can cancel at any time from your subscriptions area.
Event packages: one-time purchases linked to a specific event letter. To prevent abuse, each event supports up to 1,000 invitations, including packages with no stated limit; contact us for larger needs.
7. Intellectual property
The code, design, 3D models, animations, and texts of CartIrya are the exclusive property of CartIrya and protected by copyright law.
The content you create with CartIrya (letter texts, personalized elements) remains your property. You grant CartIrya a limited, non-exclusive license to store and transmit such content in order to provide the service.
You may not extract, download, decompile, reconstruct, redistribute, or reuse the 3D models, textures, graphic assets, or code of the site for purposes other than normal use of the service through the CartIrya interface, even where technically accessible via the browser.
8. Special features and technical limitations
CartIrya offers some features that depend on the integrity of the service and infrastructure. The following features are provided on a best-effort basis but do not constitute a legal guarantee of outcome:
Self-destructing letters: some letters can be set to be deleted automatically after the first reading or after a certain period. Deletion is performed by our systems in the shortest technically possible time, but temporary technical copies may persist briefly in backup systems, system logs, or the provider's infrastructure caches. CartIrya does not guarantee the instant or absolute deletion of such residues, nor the non-archiving of the letter on the recipient's side (e.g. screenshots, saving the text).
Time capsules (postdated letters): some letters can be scheduled to become accessible to the recipient on a future date set by the sender. CartIrya undertakes to keep the letter stored and to unlock it automatically on the scheduled date, but does not guarantee the availability of the service over very long time horizons (e.g. beyond 10 years) or in the event of service discontinuation. In case of discontinuation, we undertake to give users reasonable notice (at least 60 days) and to provide a way to export the content.
RSVP and event guest management: the system invites recipients via unique links. CartIrya is not responsible for the correct delivery of the link to the final recipient (e.g. spam filters, user errors when typing the name).
For messages that require firm guarantees of delivery or deletion (e.g. legal communications, highly sensitive data) we advise not to rely solely on CartIrya but to use channels specifically certified for those purposes.
9. Limitation of liability
CartIrya is not responsible for:
Loss of data caused by events beyond our control (e.g. infrastructure outages).
Indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.
Content sent by users through the platform.
Loss of drafts stored only locally: they reside solely in the user's browser, not on our servers, and are deleted if browsing data is cleared — even if the user has an account.
The service is provided "as is" without a guarantee of 100% continuous availability, although we strive to keep it always accessible.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
Fate of content after deletion:
Profile and account data: deleted within 30 days.
Letters you have sent: remain accessible to recipients until the natural expiry you set, or up to 12 months from deletion (a courtesy limit), then they are deleted.
Letters you have received: are the sender's property. Your reference as recipient is anonymized; the content remains accessible only to the sender.
Remaining credits and subscriptions: non-refundable except as provided by the . Credits obtained for free (promotions, gifts, bonuses) do not entitle you to any refund.
Tax data (orders, receipts): kept for 10 years as required by law, in minimal form.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms over time (e.g. for new features or regulatory changes). In the event of material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email or via a notice in the platform; if you do not accept them, you may stop using the service and delete your account before they take effect. Using the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Minor changes (formal corrections, clarifications) are published here with an update of the version number at the top of the page.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute, the court of the consumer's place of residence shall have jurisdiction.
